Anna's Inside Scoop with Stuart McPhate

One of the best things about ZooLab has got to be working with an incredible team! Each month, Ranger Anna will interview a member of the ZooLab family.

This month we will be speaking to Team Leader, Stuart McPhate

Hi Stuart, how long have you worked for ZooLab?

I will have been with ZooLab 3 years this January.

What is your role within the company?

I am a Team Leader for the office sales team.

With ZooLab, everyday is different! Can you think of a day which was completely out of the ordinary for you?

As you know my role is office based, however when I was working with the Corporate team I arranged a booking for the Scottish Open (golf for those unaware) and went down to build relations with the customers. Little did I know that I would spend the next 4 hours with Owen helping to deliver sessions to the actual golfer's children - walking around with snakes, bearded dragons and more! It was a brilliant day and I got to see first-hand how great a ranger Owen is.

What is something you love about working for ZooLab?

I enjoy the unpredictability of the next call/enquiry. This means that you need to be prepared and think on your feet at all times.

Tell us a little bit about yourself! Do you have any pets?

There's not a great deal to tell! I don't have any pets. I spent almost all my spare time with my two sons (Charlie, 13 and Lucas, 10) but they have moved to Australia for the next 2 1/2 years. Now most of my weekends are spent touring remote parts of Scotland to watch the mighty Stenhousemuir Football Club.

If you were an animal, what would it be?

A goat, as they are resilient and always ready to climb and in ZooLab when the sales figures are wiped clean at the start of each month, the climb begins again.

What's your favourite food?

I will eat just about anything but if I really had to pick then it would be fajitas.

What are some hobbies you have?

Watching and playing football, darts, pool, snooker and tenpin bowling - you can see the trend of all pub sports

If you could move anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Somewhere like the Maldives, imagine waking up to that every morning:

What is your new years resolution?

To start driving 🚗.
